King George Community Association AGM

Did you know that KGCA is a group of volunteers that advocates for our community and organizes events for our neighbourhood? The community clean up, Winter Festival, community classes, community newsletter, and ice rink at King George school are all organized and maintained by volunteers in the KGCA!

Come out (or tune in) to the AGM on Wednesday Oct 14th at 7pm at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex to learn more or get involved! We will also have a virtual Zoom meeting set-up. Message us on Facebook to get Zoom details.

We are looking to fill the School Council Coordinator position on the KGCA. This position acts as a liaison between KGCA and the Community School Council. This position would be great for someone with kid(s) attending King George School.

There are Member at Large positions available too- in this position you can assist with any sub-committees that are of interest to you and help out with our events throughout the year.

Check out the event page on our Facebook for more details: https://fb.me/e/3hAJjPj4m

Community Clean-up Cancelled

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, all community clean-ups have been cancelled. We hope to organize one for the Fall 2020.

If you feel the desire to beautify your neighbourhood in the meantime, follow some safety precautions:

  • Your safety comes first. Don’t pick up anything you are not comfortable with.

  • Comply with physical distancing requirement of two meters (2m) from other people not part of your household.

  • Use protective hand wear when collecting litter and make sure to sanitize hands before touching your mouth, nose or eyes. Always wash your hands as soon as you return home or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water aren’t available.

  • If you find needles and don’t have a container to put them in call Saskatoon Fire Department (306-975-3030) for needle pick-up.

  • Do not collect or dispose of any unknown liquids you may come across - do not pick up, touch or smell them; simply note the address, and let the City Customer Care Center (306-975-2476) know.

  • All trash should be put in a garbage bag and tied shut.

  • All trash collected should be disposed of in the garbage, even if it is recyclable. Recyclable items should be considered as ‘contaminated’ so should not be put in the recycle bin.

  • Use the trash receptacles in the parks in your neighbourhood, or dispose of trash in your garbage container.

Thank you for doing your part to help keep our neighbourhood beautiful!
